Twins!!!

Good morning, above is a photo of our newest arrivals.....TWINS!! Unnamed presently but full of energy and a little bit naughty, in fact one of them is sticking his tongue out (the one at the back of the photo) if you look closely!
Any name suggestions would be gratefully received!
Other than that, all is calm on the farm, many more the calf still, so fingers crossed!

Escape Artist in residence.......

It seems we have our very own Houdini.....he comes in the form of Frank,(see above) the smallest but most confident Dexter here at The Fine Beef Company headquarters. As always the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, it just happens to be a very well kept cricket pitch.....pretty much every day, Frank takes his constitutional around his beautifully manicured grounds and now my mobile is on the groundsman's speed dial list......ouch. Its still a total mystery how he gets out, we can only assume he has amazingly flexible limbs!
Back to other news, no new arrivals yet, although a couple of the girls are looking like they will be giving birth very soon, will keep you posted. Other than that, everyone is very well and have all had their blue tongue jabs, thank goodness.
Please contact me if you fancy hearing more about The Fine Pork Company that Phil Vickery and I will shortly be launching.
See you soon!

Torrent Fredrick Huntsham Medlar
We welcomed Torrent Fredrick Huntsham Medlar into the world early last Sunday morning, its been touch and go but I can now confirm he is going from strength to strength and is in rude health!
He is our first Longhorn X calf so the excitement has been overwhelming. His mother, Florence, has been amazing, as have the rest of the herd.
I will post a photo asap, he isn't standing still long enough right now to catch his best side! He is silver with a white tummy and white blobs on the back of his legs and a dark strip down his spine....a very handsome young man.
Everyone else is fine, the weather, even the last couple of days, has been glorious, very very warm for this time of year.
I think we will have a few more calves arriving over the next couple of weeks, our main calving time is may-sept so this is very early, I will keep you posted. But now I must hurry back to the barn...this wind is picking up and those Dexters are very light!!

Farmers markets and stuff
What a beautiful Monday morning it is here on the farm, daffodils popping up everywhere and the chickens finally laying eggs.
Most of the cattle are in and happily lazing around in a lovely warm straw filled barn. The Dexters are still out rampaging around the fields having a wonderful time in the pre Spring sunshine.
We have started attending Farmers markets which has been great fun, we are at Beaconsfield on the last Saturday of the month and Gerrards Cross on the second Wednesday of the month, please do pop in and say hi.
All is well here, we will have some very exciting news next week, I will keep you informed!Happy beef eating!
