Hi
I have been so busy and haven't had time to dedicate to my blog so excuse me if this is short.
We have had a few new arrivals lately, I went to market and brought some more breeding stock, a Limousin, a Gelbvieh and another Aberdeen Angus, so we have lots of cows now which is brilliant. Ludlow is still here and doing his job well.
Over the weekend we acquired some Longhorns too, check out my website to find out about them, they are amazing animals, huge and very docile, with these massive horns, Im keeping my distance though as they are both bulls so its best not to get too close. www.thefinebeefcompany.co.uk
The rest of the herd are all doing fantastically well, Gloria has become head honcho since Sibrina had her horns removed (we had to remove them as she kept getting them stuck in the feeding rings). Now Gloria rules the roost she has become quite stand offish with me, Im sure she will calm down soon.
The whole herd escaped the other day as our fences keep being tampered with, they made an amazing escape but thankfully didn't get too far and managed to miss peoples gardens this time!
We are in the process of becoming FABLE registered, we aren't having to change much to get certified as we already run the farm like a tight ship.
Its sad to see the nights drawing closer, my favorite time of day was about 7.30/8pm, I would go and sit with the herd and be quiet with them in the sun for an hour or so, its getting a bit cold for that now.
We are sorted with all our hay in - just waiting for our straw now.
On the beef side everything is going well also, word of mouth seems to be working at the moment and I already have some very loyal customers.
Well, I had better go now, please do get in touch with comments or suggestions, all much appreciated.
Will write again soon
